Some time ago, I was talking with a friend about the most controversial fashion shows of all time and yesterday, while wasting time in bed just because it was Sunday, I remembered that. When I googled it, I found (again) this Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 1995 show and I wanted to share it with you. It may be shocking for a lot of people but you should know that it portrays the England’s “rape” of Scotland in the 18th and 19th centuries and it also intends to start a revolution in the way women are seen most of the times.
“The show offered striking comments on both femininity and British ancestry.McQueen hit back at suggestions of «misogyny», explaining that he wanted to empower females by portraying (and thereby drawing attention to) «the way society sees women, not how I see them».” (source: dazeddigital.com)
Yeah.. we are mainly used to see beautiful things but this kind of protests definitely open our mind. So try to watch it until the end! Enjoy!
